Why a yajna is different from all other
Vedic remedies?
Many people have the means to get yajnas, but most of them do not believe it, nor they know about it or it's powers. On the other hand many know about yajnas and are willing to contribute to them, but do not have the financial ability, or have some other limitations. So in my view when one comes to know about the yajna and also has the financial ability to contribute, he should really take the advantage of this valuable opportunity. It is not such an opportunity that everyone is offered with, and when one is offered with this, he really should use it to the fullest extent possible, and see the divine grace by himself.
Vedic tradition suggests different remedial measure to alleviate karmic
problems. Such as - wearing gemstones, chanting mantras, donating to the
poor people, offering service to others, and performance of yajnas etc.
All these remedies generally might have some limitation for which they
might not always be able to focus on a particular problem. But a yajna
is very different, and it can focus on whatever problem someone might
have. That is why, by many, it is considered to be the 'Standard
Remedial Measure' to soften or solve problems.
In Gita Lord Krishna, the Ultimate God said -
"If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it."
This 'offering' and sacrifice is related to the yajna. Yajna means
offering things to the Lord as he likes it. You do not need anything
else when the God likes your offerings. You can have trust on him and
leave everything on his hand. He is the most kind and responds to our
pleas. We just need to ask for his help in the right way.
Undoubtedly, a yajna is the best remedy of all, and even it works as the
most powerful. Donating to a yajna is the best use of the money than investing in any other remedies, it is the purest and most direct remedy possible. And it is very fortunate of us that this ancient Holy ritual is still surviving these days in this age of artificiality, meanness and sins.
